I recently made a significant investment in my small pottery business by creating a brand-new home studio! My vision was to have a functional space that would allow me to craft and showcase my collection in a kitchen-like environment. Open Shelves and natural wood elements were the heart of the design. After a full year of design and construction, it’s finally finished, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I am eternally grateful to my husband, parents, and friends for their unwavering support throughout this journey. My two young children were also deeply involved; I captured their adorable little handprints in the kiln room doorway, serving as a constant reminder of my motivation to make this business thrive.
From Clay to Table
Each piece begins as a lump of earthy stoneware and is shaped by hand on the wheel. From throwing and trimming to glazing and firing, every form moves through more than a dozen careful steps.
I hand-stamp each piece with the Hayes Ceramics mark as a quiet signature of authenticity. Glazes are poured and dipped organically, allowing subtle overlaps and movement to create a finish that is never exactly the same.

My online shop features my most current inventory, updated after each kiln firing. Each piece is handmade in small batches, so availability changes frequently.
If an item is sold out, you’re welcome to select the preorder option, if available. Most orders take approximately 3–4 weeks to complete the making and firing process.

Holiday Orders
Most orders take approximately 3–4 weeks to complete. During the holiday season, production timelines may be longer and less predictable.
For specific requests, larger orders, and wholesale inquiries, please reach out in October or earlier to allow ample time for planning and production.
Custom Orders

My ideal custom pieces are under 10” in height/diameter, align with the Hayes Ceramics aesthetic, and feature round or symmetrical forms, as I work primarily on the potter’s wheel.

Terms of Service
Stoneware Care & Use
Hayes Ceramics pieces are handcrafted from durable stoneware and designed to be enjoyed in everyday life. Because each piece and finish is unique, care recommendations vary by style.
Fully & Partially Glazed Stoneware
Dishwasher safe and suitable for microwave reheating. Avoid extended microwave cooking or baking.
Pie Plates
Made with extra thickness for conventional oven baking. Avoid sudden temperature changes and allow the piece to cool before washing. Not recommended for microwave baking.
Bare Clay Stoneware
Pieces with predominantly exposed clay exteriors are glazed inside and watertight. While stoneware can withstand high temperatures, these designs are not intended for microwave or oven use. Hand washing is recommended.
General Care
Avoid sudden temperature changes, direct stovetop heat, and open flames. Gentle hand washing is recommended to preserve the longevity of your handmade stoneware.
Shipping
Orders are shipped via USPS with tracking provided. Please allow 2–8 business days for shipping and delivery.
Standard shipping is $8. I strive to package orders thoughtfully using recycled craft paper and honeycomb packing paper whenever possible.
Curbside Pickup
Free local pickup is available in Windsor, California.
After placing your order, I’ll email you with pickup details, including the address and an approximate pickup window. You’re welcome to request a preferred time during checkout, but please wait for email confirmation before arriving.
Returns & Exchanges
Because each piece is handmade and fragile, all sales are final and refunds are not generally offered. Exchanges may be accommodated under the following conditions.
Exchange Policy
Exchanges must be requested within 14 days of delivery.
Items must be unused, in their original condition, and securely packaged.
Customers are responsible for return shipping and the cost of shipping the replacement item.
Custom or made-to-order pieces are not eligible for exchange
Once the original piece has been received and inspected, the exchange will be processed promptly.
In-person exchanges are encouraged when possible. Please reach out to arrange a meeting in Sonoma County, California.
Damaged Items
Please inspect your order upon arrival. If an item arrives damaged, contact me within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of:

The shipping box
I’ll review the damage and provide a replacement.

Lost or Stolen Packages
Once an order has been shipped, Hayes Ceramics cannot guarantee delivery or be responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after delivery. If your package is missing, please contact USPS with your tracking information. You’re also welcome to reach out to me for assistance.
